The Journey
Every stop taught a lesson and paved the road to the next.
Odd jobs & a spark
Left Morgan State when the recession hit. I bounced between odd jobs while paying attention to what I was good at, and kept coming back to one thing: I could make broken tech work for people who'd given up on it. That pull turned into a plan. I also got really good at Call of Duty.
The foundation
Landed my first real IT role: supporting a service desk for 2,000+ users at a 'Big Law' firm where every user was a VIP. I learned to stay calm under partners' pressure, to diagnose and remedy issues fast, and that people remember how you fixed something just as much as whether you did. White-glove wasn't a buzzword here, it was the job.
From solo analyst to lead
Went from a solo analyst to leading our two-person team in under 1 year. Deployed new workplace technology for a renowned NYC creative studio. First taste of owning an outcome, not just a ticket. Supported office-wide rollouts, managing the team's workload, and became an internal certified Mac SME. I'm really hitting a stride in my career now. But the unfortunate side effect is I am no longer good at Call of Duty.
Learning to build at scale
Grew from IT Specialist to Systems Administrator, managing 1,500+ devices on Jamf and helping drive a successful ISO 27001 certification. This is where I stopped thinking about addressing one machine at a time and started thinking in fleets. This systems mindset has been the foundation of everything since.
Owning the hard rollouts
Responsible for several end-to-end rollouts, including the 15k+ user passwordless authentication and the 18k+ user move from VPN to Zscaler. Big, cross-org programs with a huge radius. End-to-end planning matters just as much as the technology itself. I learned to deploy change to tens of thousands of people without the service desk team lighting on fire. Maybe I needed an extinguisher once or twice… but I always had one ready.
White glove meets AI
I made the cross country leap of faith from NYC to the Bay Area and now I deliver white-glove technology solutions to Intuit's most senior leaders, up to the CEO. I've carved a unique niche where I'm using AI to build tools that empower my team. The Exchange MCP server, the agentic ops dashboards, the automations that allow us to focus on ensuring leaders can focus on transformative business ventures. This is the role where my two halves finally meet: Service and systems. The move to the Bay Area has been great! The weather is fantastic, even if the pizza is terrible, but it's a tradeoff worth making.
See, I told you it was a good story ;)
